Irmak Ertör is a post-doc researcher in the Institute of Environmental Science and Technology, Autonomous University of Barcelona (ICTA-UAB). She holds a BS in Economics and an MA in Modern Turkish History from Bogazici University, Istanbul, Turkey. Irmak worked for the EJOLT project, contributed to the Atlas of Environmental Justice in Turkey and later investigated the political ecology of fisheries and aquaculture for the ENTITLE project (European Network of Political Ecology). In July 2017, she obtained her PhD degree from ICTA-UAB with her dissertation on the political ecology of aquaculture in Europe. Her current recent research interests focus on fisher folk conflicts, small-scale fisheries and food sovereignty and political ecology of fisheries and aquaculture.
