Sofía Ávila is a PhD student in the Environmental Science and Technology Institute of the Autonomous University of Barcelona (ICTA-UAB). She is working on the social and biophysical dimensions of renewable energy production. Her interests are on the distributional aspects of energy transition strategies, and exploring alternative paths through environmental justice and degrowth. She holds a Master degree in Ecological Economics and Political Ecology (ICTA), and a Bachelor in International Relations (UNAM). She’s board member of the Mesoamerican Society for Ecological Economics. Sofia is also a curious traveller and eclectic reader.
