Federico Demaria is an interdisciplinary socio-environmental scientist working on political ecology and ecological economics at the Environmental Science and Technology Institute of the Autonomous University of Barcelona (ICTA-UAB). Currently, he is the deputy coordinator of the EnvJustice project. He is the co-editor of two books: ‘Degrowth: A Vocabulary for a New Era’ (Routledge, 2015), translated into ten languages; and ‘Pluriverse: A post-Development Dictionary‘ (AUF, 2019). He is a founding member of Research & Degrowth. His research focuses on first, how natural resources and environmental impacts are unequally distributed, and second, on how to move towards more socially just and ecologically sustainable worlds. He is also an organic olive farmer.
